Matilda Kalving is a Master of Arts graduate from the University of Lapland, where her thesis explored societal acceptance of AI and the use of design AI tools. As a research assistant in the UX-design team at the Faculty of Art & Design since 2018, Matilda has been deeply involved in projects that blend technology with user-centric design principles. 

Her commitment to the community shines through her active roles in student associations, including serving as student advocate and chair of the Art & Design students association, TAO ry. She has also been a twice-elected student representative to the University of Lapland Collegium, serving the second term as vice president, demonstrating her leadership and advocacy skills. Beyond her academic and professional endeavors, Matilda has been a tutor, student ambassador, and volunteer, showcasing her dedication to fostering an inclusive and vibrant academic environment. 

With a background that also includes creative endeavors outside the academic sphere, such as in television, theatrical licensing, and graphic design, Matilda brings a unique perspective to her work. This diverse experience enriches her approach to UX design and research, allowing her to draw upon a wide range of influences in her pursuit of innovative solutions. Her multifaceted contributions reflect a deep commitment to advancing the fields of art, design, and technology.
